Hey there! Welcome to Keswick School Library's website and blog! Thanks for taking a look. We'd love to hear from our visitors so please leave us a comment to tell us what you think of the website, what you are reading or books you'd recommend. Thanks.
It's that time of year where students in years 7 and 8 are reading novels in their English lessons.
Books being read this year are: Year 7: Wonder, The Hunger Games, Cowgirl, The Memory Cage, The White Giraffe, Skellig, Goodnight Mr Tom Year 8: Stone Cold, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, The Machine Gunners, The Woman in Black, Short Stories Students, what are your comments about your class novel? The only long book series I've ever read is 'Harry Potter'. When I was younger, I read some of 'The Black Stallion' books, but not all. I've also read some of Brian Jacques 'Redwall' series. Recently, I've been getting back into series - I've read all of The Hunger Games and Slated trilogies and have just finished part two of the Silver Blackthorn and Half bad trilogies (part 3 for both will be out later this year). But there also many books that I've read which are the first in a series, but I haven't wanted to read the rest: Skulduggery Pleasant, The Spook's Apprentice, The Ranger's Apprentice, The Maze Runner...
What do you think of series? Do you love them or prefer stand-alone books? Are there any books that you've read that you wish had a sequel or a series to follow them? Do you have a favourite book series? |
